Before you buy stock to sell through Fulfilment by Amazon in the UK, list every cost between the sell price and your bank account.

The costs

Referral fee: a percentage of the sell price that depends on the category, with a minimum per item.
FBA fulfilment fee: depends on size and weight.
VAT on fees: if you are not VAT-registered, you usually can't reclaim it.
Storage: monthly, higher in the last quarter of the year.
Returns: set a reserve, for example a few percent of sales.
