Ecommerce profit calculator in Excel: how to build one

A spreadsheet is the simplest profit calculator: one row per product, one column per cost. Here is a layout you can copy.

Columns to include

  1. Sell price
  2. Product cost (including inbound shipping)
  3. Platform fee (% of sell price, plus any fixed fee)
  4. Payment fee
  5. Outbound shipping and packaging
  6. Returns allowance (a % you set)
  7. Net profit = sell price minus columns 2–6
  8. Margin = net profit ÷ sell price
  9. ROI = net profit ÷ product cost
